Had a supporting wall taken out to open up our kitchen and lounge. Dave talked us through exactly what building regs needed before we signed anything, which we appreciated after getting vague answers from two other builders. Only reason it's not five stars is the job overran by a few days, though they didn't charge extra for it.
Good job overall. Building control raised a query on the staircase position partway through which pushed us back about a week, but Hallam sorted the paperwork without passing the delay cost on to us. Would use again.
We'd been putting off doing anything with our kitchen for years because the thought of living through a renovation filled us with dread, but honestly it wasn't half as disruptive as we expected. The lads were in and out within three weeks, always cleared up before they left, and even our fussy cat got used to them being around by the second week. Can't fault the finish on the units either.
Hallam quoted 10 weeks for our single-storey rear extension and that's exactly how long it took, even with a delay getting the steel delivered. Dave kept us updated the whole way through and the finish on the plastering is better than the original walls in the house.
New bathroom finished in six days, exactly as quoted. Tiling is spot on. No complaints.
